The goal of Western Emergency Department Operations Conference (WEDOC) is to bring local, national and international experts together to explore how we can better address system issues in the management of our Emergency Departments (ED) with a focus on overcrowding. WEDOC annually engages leaders and champions to share their successes, find solutions, develop strategies and motivate all involved to keep Emergency Department Operations work a top priority. On the ground, this conference helps to reenergize and reinvigorate current teams and help new ones understand the challenges and battles that lie ahead. It is the only conference in Canada that is focused on Emergency Department process improvements and efficiencies and that brings together healthcare providers, managers, decision and policy makers together to create a common understanding and awareness of the biggest ED issues. A collaborative effort between the 4 western provinces and 5 major western universities, 2016 is the University of Manitoba’s turn to host 6th Annual WEDOC event.
