Ella is a senior program assistant with the UBC RCPD and the Rural Coordination Centre of BC (RCCbc). She received a Bachelor of Arts in Linguistics from the University of Kansas, and a Master of Arts in Linguistics from the University of British Columbia. She developed an interest in rural health care through a graduate teaching assistantship in Speech-Language Pathology and Audiology and her volunteer work at the North Shore Stroke Recovery Centre in North Vancouver. Ella has general experience in academic writing, editing, and data collection and analysis.
In Ella’s spare time, she enjoys cooking, eating, and cultivating house plants (to varying degrees of success, having not inherited the family green thumb). She is particularly passionate about singing, and performs everything from classical choral repertoire with the Vancouver Oratorio Singers to alt-rock, alt-country, jazz, blues, and soul with her friends.
