Hands-On Ultrasound Education Obstetrics (HOUSE-OB)

What is the HOUSE-OB Course?

The Hands-On Ultrasound Education Obstetrics Course (HOUSE-OB) was designed specifically for rural health care practitioners who provide maternity care to patients. Participants in the course dramatically improve their management of patients in the third trimester through a series of hands-on sessions with third trimester patient models.

Who should attend the course?
Physicians and midwives who work in rural communities and provide obstetrical care to patients.

What will I learn?
How to use bedside ultrasound to dramatically improve your management of patients in the third trimester by answering these specific questions: Is the fetal presentation head down? Is fetal cardiac activity present? Is the placenta a safe distance from the cervix? Is there a normal amount of amniotic fluid? Is there more than one fetus?
