We will return to the family-friendly Predator Ridge Resort and we encourage attendees to take a mini holiday to enjoy the resort!

This year we have returned to a 1.5 day format so you can enjoy the rest of the weekend and if you want you can stay at the resort Saturday night and enjoy the many amenities of the area. Also the cost to register has reduced this year!

    More, Earlier, Better

To influence more, earlier, and better conversations with patients facing a serious illness, the BC-Centre for Palliative Care has adopted the work of Ariadne Labs from Harvard Medical School.  Ariadne Labs has developed and tested a structured communication intervention, the Serious Illness Conversation Program, designed to identify appropriate patients, train clinicians to use the guide with identified patients, prepare patients and families for these conversations, and document outcomes of the conversation in a    structured format for easy access across settings. The seven item Communication Guide helps clinicians elicit the patient’s illness understanding and decision-making preferences, share prognostic information, understand goals, fears and strengths, explore views on trade-offs, and identify next steps.

This 2.5-hour workshop: Serious Illness Care: More, Earlier, Better Conversations is offered to clinicians interested in learning to use the Serious Illness Conversation Guide.  For more info visit:
