ACLS:  Provides the knowledge and skills needed to evaluate and manage the first 10 minutes of an adult ventricular fibrillation/ventricular tachycardia (VF/VT) arrest.  Learn to manage 10 core ACLS cases: a respiratory emergency, four type of cardiac arrest, four types of pre-arrest emergencies, and stroke. 
(Approximate Time: Thursday 0800 - 1530)

*All participants MUST have completed a current Heart and Stroke Foundation of Canada (HSFC) BLS Level C certificate/status within 12 month prior to taking the course.  

Maximum Enrollment: 24

This Group Learning program meets the certification criteria of the College of Family Physicians of Canada and has been certified by UBC CPD for up to 12.5 Mainpro+ credits. This program is an Accredited Group Learning Activity eligible for up to 6.25 MOC Section 2 credits as defined by the Maintenance of Certification program of the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada.  Each physician should claim only those credits he/she actually spent in the activity.

APLS: Learn to assess and manage critically ill children during the first hours in the emergency department.  Take part in this skills stations and case discussion sessions.  Participants must then successfully complete the APLS Course Completion Examination. 
(Approximate Times: Friday 0800 - 1600)
