Target Audience:

Established rural physicians who are interested in developing their leadership skills through offering support and guidance to new physicians as they enter rural practice

Course Format: Approx. 20 hours total over 10 months, 10 meetings recommended, Facilitated information session, Optional check-ins

Overview

The Rural Physician Mentoring Program is a formal, structured physician mentoring program designed specifically to address the needs of physicians who are new to rural practice in British Columbia.

  • Mentors gain valuable leadership experience and ongoing support throughout the program
  • 10 month structured mentoring relationship
  • Total time commitment of 20 hours over the 10 months of the program
  • Mentors receive a $1200 honorarium per mentee
  • Accredited for Mainpro+ and MOC credits
