Safe Surgical Care: Strategies during a Pandemic Course Banner

This new online course informs surgical teams of the risk during pandemics, prepares them to respond appropriately, gives them tools to ensure their safety, builds pathways to maintain specific surgical services and anticipates and mitigates long term impacts. It includes real life case studies and clinical examples, physician-led discussions and expert interviews, interactive quiz questions, and curated resources. Created in partnership with UBC Department of Surgery, Branch for International Surgical Care, Vancouver General Hospital Section of Trauma, Emergency and Global Surgery, Continuing Professional Development (UBC CPD), and UBC Extended Learning.

Target audience: Healthcare providers involved in the delivery of surgical care in both high and low resource settings, including, but not limited to: surgeons (all specialties), physicians with surgical skills (including clinical officers and medical officers), operating theater nurses, operating  theater technicians, respiratory therapists, perfusionists, occupational therapists, physiotherapists.
