Since its inception in 2009, UBC CPD, in partnership with Ovarian Cancer Canada, has successfully engaged family physicians in better understanding their roles and best practices surrounding ovarian cancer care. To date, this program has delivered 14 case-based, community workshops throughout BC, conference presentations, an online webinar, and a This Changed My Practice article by Dr. Sarah Finlayson. The most recent offering is the Ovarian Cancer 'Reverse Workshop'.
What is the Ovarian Cancer 'Reverse Workshop'?
This brand new, live workshop, covers the role of the family physician along the continuum of ovarian cancer care, including best practices based on new rationale and evidence.
This workshop utilizes an exciting “reverse classroom” format. Participants watch the archived Ovarian Cancer: Local Updates and Ask the Expert webinar OR take a short pre-workshop quiz, watching segments of the webinar as necessary to ensure they have base knowledge to apply to problem solving, discussion, and case-based application in a live workshop with a provincial expert. This learning format is becoming increasingly popular: participants maximize time with experts and experience improved learning outcomes.
