UBC Faculty of Medicine explores cutting-edge imaging technology
Dr. Sriram Subramaniam’s lab at UBC is using cryo-electron microscopy (cryo-EM) to “accelerate drug development for cancer, infectious diseases and more.” With cryo-EM, scientists can access detailed images of “protein structures in action at the atomic level” with powerful microscopes, allowing them to learn more about the effect of protein structure on diseases.
