Dr. Kevin Fairbairn, Medical Lead

Kevin trained as a family physician in Chilliwack and works primarily in the emergency department in Nelson, British Columbia (BC). He is excited to be involved with ultrasound education and the continued evolution of point-of-care ultrasound (POCUS) skills.

Dr. Virginia Robinson, Medical Lead

Virginia has been a full-service family provider in Fernie for the last 20 years. She is an avid POCUS user in her practice, coaches Ultrasound for the Coaching and Mentoring Program (CAMP), teaches for the Hands-on Ultrasound Education (HOUSE) courses and has spoken nationally and internationally on POCUS in primary care and obstetrics.

Nicole Moon, Program Manager 

As Program Manager on the Rural CPD team, Nicole plans and delivers education that is tailored to the unique needs of rural, remote and Indigenous communities. A graduate of UBC's Master of Health Administration program at the School of Population and Public Heath, she enjoys expanding her knowledge of our complex health-care system and tackling relevant issues alongside an inter-professional group of health professionals and change agents.

Erica Chaplin, Education Manager 

Erica earned her Bachelor of Arts in English Literature at the University of British Columbia. She has over five years of experience in hospitality, health care, education and technology sectors, spanning roles in customer service, student support, patient care and program management. Erica enjoys meeting with Rural communities across BC to learn about their unique needs for ultrasound education and how she can best support them. 

Emily Lai, Senior Program Assistant

Emily is a Senior Program Assistant on the Accreditation team at UBC CPD. She has experience as a government Constituency Assistant and in office management and holds a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science and Asian Studies from the University of British Columbia.
