We lead novel research and evaluation initiatives in CPD
Needs Assessment: New-to-Practice Physicians in British Columbia
UBC Continuing Professional Development (UBC CPD) is exploring the learning and environmental needs of physicians who are in their first three years of independent practice in BC.
We are seeking input from International Medical Graduates (IMGs), including those who participated in BC-PIP or Practice Ready Assessment BC (PRA-BC), graduates of a BC residency program and physicians who recently moved to BC from another province.
Participation:
You may choose to participate in one or both phases of the study. Participation will remain confidential.
Phase 1: Online Survey (approximately 15 minutes)
Share your CPD needs and preferences as you transition to independent practice. You will have the opportunity to enter a draw for one of ten $75 Everything gift cards.
Phase 2: Optional Focus Groups (60-90 minutes)
Join a small group discussion with other IMG physicians new to practice in BC, facilitated by a member of our research team. Questions will focus on your experiences transitioning to independent practice. More information about the focus groups is available in the study consent form included at the start of the survey. You will receive an honorarium of $264.27 for participation.
