Pearls for Immunization Practice is an online self-learning course for all interested immunization providers and takes approximately 90 minutes to complete. It is especially useful for those physicians new to immunization practice in BC. This course is also suitable as a refresher course for physicians who already have a theoretical and clinical understanding of immunization practice and would like to update their knowledge.

By the end of this course, you will be able to:
- Confidently apply immunization principles to practice and navigate reputable immunization resources
- Determine immunization schedules for different populations
- Describe principles of vaccine administration including vaccine storage and handling
- Distinguish between common side effects and adverse events following immunizations and describe appropriate follow up
- Effectively communicate immunization information to patients and their families using reputable provider focused and public focused resources
- Accreditation
The Division of Continuing Professional Development, University of British Columbia Faculty of Medicine (UBC CPD) is fully accredited by the Continuing Medical Education Accreditation Committee (CACME) to provide CPD credits for physicians. This activity is an Accredited Self-Assessment Program (Section 3) as defined by the Maintenance of Certification Program (MOC) of the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada, and approved by UBC CPD. You may claim a maximum of 1.50 hours (credits are automatically calculated). This one-credit-per-hour Self-Learning program meets the certification criteria of the College of Family Physicians of Canada and has been certified by UBC CPD for up to 1.50 Mainpro+® credits. Each physician should claim only those credits accrued through participation in the activity.
