Adam Sandell (He/Him)
Hi! I’m a friendly GP with many years’ experience. I trained and, until a few years ago, worked in the UK, and now work with rural Indigenous populations in BC. I spent several years as a GP, ER doc, and medical director in the remote Indigenous island community of Bella Bella, the territory and reserve of the Heiltsuk Nation. I live on one of the Southern Gulf Islands, and am currently writing a book and a Substack newsletter/podcast about how people who care about their work can have better working lives. I also do some medical assistance in dying work. I love teaching, training, and supporting colleagues, and have taught and mentored in Africa, India and the Middle East as well as the UK and Canada. Previous career as a legal aid/human rights lawyer in the UK. I’ve benefitted from mentoring through this program myself and am looking forward to working with and learning from you. Things I’ve had to think about for myself over the years include difficult work situations, career transitions, working out life priorities, resilience and stress management, navigating bureaucracy, and developing new skills. But I’m open to working with you on anything that’s on your mind.
