Virginia Robinson (She/Her)
Dr. Virginia Robinson is a Family Physician who has been practicing medicine for over 20 years. She currently practices in Fernie and her scope of practice includes Emergency, Obstetrics, maternity clinic and hospitalist care. Dr. Robinson is also the Maternity Lead for Elk Valley, the CME co-coordinator for Fernie, and the Rural Coordination of BC lead for the INPOCUS project. She has extensive mentoring and coaching experience and enjoys this work not only because is it fun, but also because it helps expand her medical community beyond Fernie and improves patient care provincially. Dr. Robinson was born and raised in Ontario and completed her medical training at McGill University in Montreal. She started her career up north in Chisasbi working with the Cree, along with breaks for mountaineering trips and volunteer stints with the Himalayan Rescue Association. Dr. Robinson served as the physician for the Canadian Everest expedition in 2000 and moved to Fernie to ski, mountain bike, and get out of the city. Dr. Robinson is married with two children and is now also an avid gardener/farmer.
