Family Practice Anesthesia Journal Club 2026
Rural FPA Journal Club returns this fall.
Every two weeks, participants will review an article, followed by a case discussion led by a specialist. The format is virtual, asynchronous, and flexible. Topics include obstetrics, pain management with acute presentations, and induction agents.

Priority registration for BC practicing FPAs in rural, remote, and First Nations communities. Family Practice Anesthesia Resident +1 candidates are also welcome.

- Zoom Kick-off Meeting: Monday, October 19, 7:00-8:00 PM PT
- Session 1: Monday, October 19 to Sunday, November 1
- Session 2: Monday, November 2 to Sunday, November 15
- Session 3: Monday, November 16 to Sunday, November 29
- Identify key points of articles and put them into context.
- Discuss the validity of study findings.
- Consider how results and conclusions apply to rural practice, and may also apply to policy, education, and future research.
The Family Practice Anesthesia (FPA) Journal Club was developed and is operated by the UBC Faculty of Medicine's Division of Continuing Professional Development (CPD) in partnership with the Rural Coordination Centre of BC. Funding for the FPA Journal Club was provided by the Joint Standing Committee on Rural Issues, a joint committee of the Doctors of BC and BC Ministry of Health.
