Rural POCUS Rounds: Bring Your Cases - Swollen Leg
Join Dr. Virginia Robinson on December 11, 2026, for a POCUS Rounds session focused on reviewing cases. Learners are invited to submit their own Swollen Leg POCUS cases for review and discussion. This interactive session offers a unique opportunity to receive expert insights, explore real clinical scenarios, and learn alongside peers.
Rural POCUS Rounds supports rural health professionals in building POCUS skills, confidence, and community through interactive, case-based learning delivered via Zoom. Participants also gain insight into additional training opportunities, as our presenters are highly engaged POCUS practitioners across British Columbia.

Dr. Virginia Robinson is a Family Physician with over 20 years of experience, currently practicing in Fernie, BC. Her scope of practice includes Emergency, Obstetrics, maternity clinic, and hospitalist care. She serves as Maternity Lead for Elk Valley, CME co-coordinator for Fernie, and Rural Coordinator of BC for the INPOCUS project.
An avid user of point-of-care ultrasound (POCUS), Dr. Robinson teaches and mentors through the Coaching and Mentoring Program (CAMP) and the Hands-on Ultrasound Education (HOUSE) courses, and has presented nationally and internationally on POCUS in primary care and obstetrics. She is passionate about mentoring as a way to expand her professional community and improve patient care provincially.
Born and raised in Ontario, Dr. Robinson completed her medical training at McGill University and began her career in Chisasbi, working with the Cree. She has also served as physician for the Canadian Everest expedition in 2000. Outside of medicine, she enjoys skiing, mountain biking, mountaineering, gardening, and farming, and is married with two children.
