Trauma-Informed Care Workshop Program for Midwives

Join us for an immersive workshop designed to enhance your understanding and skills in trauma-informed care. This training will guide you through the complexities of trauma and its effects, equipping you with the knowledge and tools to effectively support trauma recovery.
This workshop delves into identifying types and signs of trauma, understanding polyvagal theory, supporting a neuroception of safety, working with various survival physiologies, and addressing the challenges faced by midwives in trauma-informed care.

By the end of this series, you will be able to:
- Identify types & signs of trauma
- Describe polyvagal theory to understand the physiological and relational impacts of trauma
- Outline principles in providing trauma-sensitive care
- Utilize efficient somatic skills in support of trauma recovery
- Optimize provider capacity in offering a co-regulatory presence
BC Midwives: $725 + GST

Dr. Rahul Gupta, a settler born on the lands of the Anishinaabe people. Rahul now lives and works on the ancestral and unceded lands of the shíshálh and Sḵwx̱wú7mesh Nations as an integrative medical physician, professional coach, mindfulness instructor, and advocate for provider wellness. He also is a Somatic Experiencing (SE) Practitioner and integrates trauma-sensitive approaches into all trainings. He has over 19 years of supporting healthcare providers and teams in cultivating compassionate self and situational awareness.
