This February, we celebrate resident doctors’ dedication to enhance health care throughout the province – we congratulate three recipients of the Educational Research Grants for Residents and share a brand-new coaching portal for physician residents. We are also excited to share in-person workshops on team-based care, hosted by the Vancouver Division of Family Practice (VDoFP).
Highlighting research excellence: three resident grant recipients
We are pleased to award three Educational Research Grants for Residents this year, highlighting the excellent research in the UBC Faculty of Medicine residency program. Congratulations to the recipients:
Dr. Jessie Zhang, PGY2, Family Practice Resident | Title of research project: Cross-sectional study of Resident Physician Knowledge and Perceptions Regarding Metabolic Dysfunction Associated Steatotic Liver Disease (MASLD) in Canada |
Dr. Nancy Lum, PGY3, Pediatrics Resident | Title of research project: Enhancing Social Determinants of Health Education for Pediatric Resident |
Dr. Damian Feldman-Kiss, PGY2, Emergency Medicine Resident | Title of research project: Evaluating the effect of a cognitive aid during simulated emergency intubation on the non-technical skills of resident-led emergency teams: a randomized controlled trial |
Brand-new coaching portal for physician residents
We have launched a Peer-2-Peer Coaching Portal for physician residents to create their own coaching programs. With resources and a discussion forum to connect with program leads and site directors, residents can organize and use sessions to set rotation goals in One45, support tracking goals in T-res and more.
Bring coaching to your residency site.
UBC CPD celebrates Resident Doctor Appreciation week – celebrating resident doctors
