UBC Continuing Professional Development (UBC CPD) is an academic unit in the Faculty of Medicine at the University of British Columbia. We advance the field of continuing professional development (CPD) through the design, delivery, accreditation, evaluation and research of learning for health professionals.

Our impact

We put strategy into action within the context of health-care practice and health outcomes.  

In the 2024/2025 academic year, we welcomed nearly 85,000 registrations to 44 conferences, more than 30 webinars, and 80 eLearning courses. We reach more than 155,000 diverse health professionals from coast-to-coast in urban, rural and remote communities.  

Strong partnerships are integral to our impact in the health community. UBC CPD partners with more than 80 organizations, including Faculty of Medicine departments, health authorities, joint committees and not-for-profits in the delivery of medical education. See all our learning activities.

Additionally, as an accredited CPD provider by the Committee on Accreditation of Canadian Medical Education (CACME), we review and accredit over 700 learning activities annually, ensuring quality educational offerings across the CPD community.
