BC-PIP for Specialists
The British Columbia Physician Integration Program (BC-PIP) is a free educational initiative that supports the transition for Specialist physicians trained outside of Canada into the BC health-care system.
The BC-PIP program is available to licensed physicians in BC who meet the following criteria:
- Are a provisionally or fully-licensed physician who completed their postgraduate training outside of Canada and are within their first year of practice in BC.
The College of Physicians and Surgeons of BC (CPSBC) requires all internationally trained physicians who are new to BC to complete the program within twelve months of obtaining a full or provisional license with the CPSBC.

*Please note: UBC CPD delivers an Orientation Conference virtually twice a year, in February and September. You will be automatically registered for the next available Orientation Conference. You will receive an email within 5 business days confirming your registration in the Orientation Conference.
Attendance of the Orientation is required for completion of BC-PIP. If you are unable to attend the next Orientation, or have any questions, please email us at @email.
Funding for this Project is provided by Joint Standing Committee on Rural Issues (JSC), and the Joint Collaborative Committees (JCC) of Doctors of BC and the Province of British Columbia.
The Division of Continuing Professional Development, University of British Columbia Faculty of Medicine (UBC CPD) is fully accredited by the Continuing Medical Education Accreditation Committee (CACME) to provide CPD credits for physicians. This activity is an Accredited Self-Assessment Program (Section 3) as defined by the Maintenance of Certification Program (MOC) of the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada, and approved by UBC CPD. You may claim a maximum of 13.75 hours. Each physician should claim only those credits accrued through participation in the activity.
