BC Virtual Health Grand Rounds: Artificial Intelligence in Cardiac Care
Artificial intelligence (AI) is increasingly being integrated into cardiac imaging and care delivery, creating new opportunities to support clinical decision-making and improve access to diagnostic services. In this upcoming Vancouver Hospital Grand Rounds (VHGR) session, Dr. Teresa Tsang, University of British Columbia (UBC) cardiologist and leader of the UBC-Vancouver General Hospital (VGH) AI Echo Core Lab, will discuss current applications of AI in echocardiography and point-of-care ultrasound, including initiatives that have expanded access to cardiac imaging for rural, remote, and Indigenous communities across British Columbia. Participants will explore the opportunities and considerations associated with implementing AI-enabled tools in clinical practice, as well as their potential impact on diagnostic processes, workflow efficiency, health equity, and the future of cardiovascular care.
BC Virtual Health Grand Rounds is a quarterly provincial rounds series for health professionals, health administrators and IT colleagues. The Rounds explore transformative, technology-enabled health-care delivery. The sessions spark discussion on risks, benefits and considerations for adopting technology to support patient-centered care.
