BC Cancer Primary Care Learning Sessions: Colorectal Cancer

This online module is for primary care providers practicing in British Columbia who are interested in learning more about colorectal cancer care, and their role in supporting patients through their journey. This module will explore best practices in screening, diagnosis, treatment, survivorship, surveillance, and late effects.

Designed in partnership by UBC CPD and BC Cancer.

This course is divided into three lessons:

  • Survivorship, Surveillance & Late Effects

Skills Gained

After completing this module, learners will be able to:

  1. Describe and select from available screening options to reduce colorectal cancer (CRC) incidence and mortality in asymptomatic patients.
  2. Recognize red flag symptoms associated with CRC and select appropriate and timely diagnostic investigations and referrals.
  3. Define cultural safety and humility, and identify ways to create safe and respectful healthcare relationships.
  4. Describe the roles and responsibilities of health care providers along the CRC continuum.
  5. Identify and manage matters related to survivorship, surveillance, and late effects in CRC.
