But I Don't Do Maternity Care! Essentials for Family Physicians (Online Module)
This course was designed for family physicians and other primary care providers who don't do deliveries and see pregnant patients up to 20 weeks. This course will give you tools and information to better support patients through the pregnancy journey, including preconception, early prenatal, and postpartum.
The full course is three hours, however you may claim credits for any lessons you complete (i.e., complete just one lesson, several, or the full course).
This course has five lessons:
- Lesson 1: Preconception Care
- Lesson 2: Early Prenatal Care
- Lesson 3: Perinatal Mental Health
- Lesson 4: Early Postpartum Care
- Lesson 5: Newborn Care
By the end of this course, you will be able to:
- Apply relevant evidence regarding maternity care in family practice;
- Describe the latest recommendations for maternity care in family practice; and
- Access resources to support the implementation of maternity care recommendations into practice.
