What to expect?
The Hands-On Ultrasound Education Program delivers innovative content and on-site learning. Customize the course to the needs of your community by selecting from a menu of ultrasound topics.

Part 1: Online
Learners complete online modules prior to on-site learning.

Part 2: Hands-on Workshop
On-site learning, including practice using live models and simulation equipment.

Cost details

$2,200.00 (excluding tax) per person per day.

Learning objectives

As a result of attending this program, the participant will be able to:

  • Manage the settings on the POCUS unit to optimize the images obtained through employing the basic physics of ultrasound waves;
  • Describe the theoretical knowledge required to perform point-of-care ultrasound;
  • Demonstrate competency in the manual skills required to perform point-of-care ultrasound.

Hands-On Ultrasound Education is developed and delivered by the UBC Faculty of Medicine’s Division of Rural Continuing Professional Development (CPD) in partnership with the Rural Coordination Centre of BC, with funding support from the Joint Standing Committee on Rural Issues.

Accreditation

The Division of Continuing Professional Development, University of British Columbia Faculty of Medicine (UBC CPD) is fully accredited by the Continuing Medical Education Accreditation Committee (CACME) to provide CPD credits for physicians. This activity meets the certification criteria of the College of Family Physicians of Canada and has been certified by UBC CPD for up to 21.0 Mainpro+® Certified Activity credits. Each physician should claim only those credits accrued through participation in the activity.
