Advancing best practices in menopause care is essential to promoting safe, equitable, and evidence‑informed care for women and gender‑diverse people, and to addressing a longstanding gap in women’s health.

Family physicians and primary care providers play a central role in supporting people through the menopausal transition.

This course is designed to equip you with practical knowledge, clinical insights, and tools to confidently assess, discuss, and support menopause‑related concerns in everyday practice.

Outline

The course is divided into 4 modules, Take-Home Resources, and Discussion Board. The 4 modules are divided into the following topics:

  1. Demystifying Menopause
  2. Recognition and Assessment
  3. Hormonal Treatment
  4. Non-Hormonal Treatment
Learning objectives

By the end of this course, you will be able to:

  • Discuss the clinical features and symptoms across the stages of menopause and their potential impact on daily functioning and quality of life.
  • Practice strategies to proactively initiate and normalize menopause conversations as a health professional.
  • Identify appropriate and effective diagnostic approaches for menopause assessment.
  • Integrate practical tools and resources to enhance patient education, shared decision-making, and quality of life.
  • Summarize the benefits, risks, and contraindications of systemic and localized menopausal hormone therapy options.
  • Apply evidence-based hormonal and non-hormonal approaches to manage common and complex menopause presentations.
