For people with undiagnosed ADHD, diagnostic and management support in primary care remains limited, and psychiatric waitlists span years. Many patients are left navigating symptoms and transitioning into adulthood without timely specialist support.
Designed to support primary care providers in addressing this need, this innovative course combines expert guidance with three longitudinal interactive cases to build the practical knowledge, skills, and confidence required to diagnose, treat, and manage uncomplicated adult ADHD.
Learning objectives
By the end of this course, you will be able to:
- Apply evidence‑informed diagnostic approaches to identify uncomplicated adult ADHD using structured history-taking, developmental review, collateral information, and validated screening tools.
- Differentiate uncomplicated ADHD from common psychiatric, medical, sleep-related, and substance‑use comorbidities.
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans for adults with ADHD, including safe medication initiation and titration, appropriate pre‑treatment medical review, psychoeducation, and executive functioning supports
- Integrate the BC Adult ADHD Pathway, templates, and available community supports into ongoing care for adults with ADHD.
