Pediatric Asthma Management
This is a short online continuing medical education course designed for BC health care providers that care for children with asthma. This course will introduce you to pediatric asthma management with the intent to provide you with the knowledge and skills to improve the care of your patients.
This course is divided into four lessons:
- Diagnosis of Asthma in Children
- Primary Care Management
- Asthma Education for Family/Caregivers and Children
- Initial Management in Emergency/Urgent Care Settings
By the end of this course, you will be able to:
- Diagnose asthma in children
- Treat and manage pediatric asthma in a primary care setting
- Explore resources aimed at asthma education for families, caregivers and children
- Practice initial and ongoing management in emergent/urgent and inpatient care settings
Designed in partnership by UBC CPD and Child Health BC and the Division of Respiratory Medicine at BCCH.
The Division of Continuing Professional Development, University of British Columbia Faculty of Medicine (UBC CPD) is fully accredited by the Continuing Medical Education Accreditation Committee (CACME) to provide CPD credits for physicians. You may claim a maximum of 1.00 hour (credits are automatically calculated). Each physician should claim only those credits accrued through participation in the activity.
